Police called in after riverside fire in York

Police have been called in after a fire by the river in York today (Friday).

Firefighters were called to the River Foss bankside near Dodsworth Avenue at 4.51am.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The Acomb crew responded to a fire in the open of approx 5 by 10 metres by the side of the River Foss.
