Open and ready to go

Halfway along, a new entrance has been created into the station car park.

Pedestrians can walk around by York Railway Institute, onto the station platform and then out of the station entrance.

There is no exit for cars or pedestrians at the old car park entrance.

The route was shut all weekend as the first works began on the Station Gateway scheme to transform the entrance to York Station.

The new road will be shut again all next weekend as work to demolish the bridge goes ahead.
