Grand Opera House York have announced an exciting series of events that will take audiences behind the scenes of the theatre.
The team at the Grand Opera House are thrilled to welcome the public to a different perspective than the audience – in a series of engaging and enjoyable events this autumn.
From a workshop with Heathers and Six star Jodie Steele, to an interactive murder mystery night, to ghostly backstage tour, get ready to experience this historic venue like never before.
Josh Brown, venue director said, “We’re excited to be able to give people more opportunities to experience the venue like never before, whether that be to tread the boards at the West-End workshop with Jodie or learn more about the venue’s spooky history at the Torchlight Ghost Tours.”

West End Workshop – Jodie Steele

Don’t miss your opportunity to take to the Grand Opera House stage in a musical theatre workshop led by Jodie Steele, best known for playing Heather Chandler in the original London company of Heathers and Katherine Howard in the UK tour of Six.
Two workshops will take place aimed at either 9 – 12 year olds or 13- 17 years. Learning a routine inspired by the musical Six, you will be taught by West End performer Jodie and have the opportunity to present it back on the Grand Opera House stage, finishing with a Q&A.

Torchlight Ghost Tours

A unique experience on stage and behind the scenes after dark at Grand Opera House York, as you investigate our 120-year history.
Working with Deathly Dark Tours York, we’ll take you on a backstage tour of the venue with stories of those people connected to the theatre’s history. Torchlights will be provided to show you round as you hear spine chilling tales from the theatre’s past.
