A multi-vehicle crash closed the A1M southbound near to the York turn-off this evening.
It was between J44 (Tadcaster and York) and J43 near Leeds.
National Highways Yorkshire first reported the crash at 5.26pm. Emergency services went to the scene.
Crash location
At one point traffic was queued nearly to Boston Spa and National Highways said that people faced one-hour delays.
The crash has since been cleared and traffic has returned to normal.
