A man has been attacked and seriously injuried by the river in York.
It happened next to the Foss near Castle Mills Marina between 11.30pm on Thursday (25 September) and half past midnight on Friday.
The victim, a man in his 30s, had been fishing when he was attacked.

He suffered serious head injuries, and remains in a serious condition in hospital.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Earlier in the evening, the victim had been fishing with two other men, and we are appealing to them to come forward along with anyone else who was in the area at the time.
“We’re also appealing to anyone who may have CCTV or doorbell cameras that cover the location and may have capture the incident on camera.”
