Police have revealed more details about an attack which left a man with serious head injuries.
It happened in what police previously described as a remote location in Acaster Malbis near York, at around 8pm on the evening of Friday 5 January.
They have now revealed the assault took place near the old airfield.
The victim was hit over the head with an implement during the incident and suffered a suspected fractured eye socket. He needed hospital treatment.
Last week, police published this photograph of a man they want to speak to, as they believe he could provide vital information about the assault.
It is believed the man has links to Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh in Scotland, and Leeds in West Yorkshire, but could have travelled anywhere in the UK.
They also want to trace a specific car.
A dark coloured hatchback stopped on what is known as Airfield Lane, that runs along the side of the old airfield at Acaster Malbis, at the time of the incident and near to the scene between the industrial estate and Acaster Selby.

Officers would like to talk to the occupants of the hatchback, and speak to any motorists who were travelling along Airfield Lane between 7.45pm and 9pm on the evening of Friday 5 January, including anyone with dashcam footage.
