Free 12-week course in York to help creatives build their business better

A free creative skills bootcamp is launching in York to help architecture, film, fine art, gaming, XR, textiles and fashion businesses.

Delivered in partnership with Aesthetica, City of York Council and York St John University, with investment from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the aim is to encourage more businesses to start, create more jobs, as well as talent and skills development in the region. 

There are a total of 12 fully-funded places.

The 12-week course is five hours over two evenings a week, from 11 June to 26 September 2024.

It is designed to support creatives to develop and launch their businesses. It is free to attend and includes a series of workshops and masterclasses specifically aimed at start-ups.

All attendees will be offered 12 months’ free rent at the Enterprise Centre at York St John University to support that crucial first year unpon completion of the course. 

Applications are open until 26 May.
