Firefighters called in twice to tackle flash flood in Tadcaster

Fire crews helped to tackle a flash flood in Tadcaster last night (Thursday).

A crew from Tadcaster responded to the flood in the town’s High Street at 8.03pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews cleared and pumped the water back into the river to clear the flood water.”

Tadcaster crew returned again at 10pm to pump water from the high street for a second time. A Light portable pump was used while a further flooding pump was installed by another agency.
