A crew from Acomb responded to reports of a car fire during the early hours of this morning (Friday).
The petrol fuelled car was located on the A59, Moor Monkton, and firefighters arrived at the scene at around 3:33 am.
The flames caused 100% damage to the engine bay.
To extinguish the flames, crews used one breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and some small tools.
The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
