Firefighters called to fire near York bus stop

Firefighters were called to a fire on a York street early this morning (Wednesday).

They went to Fordlands Road in Fulford at 12.29am.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews responded to a fire sighted near a bus stop.

“On arrival this was found to be a bin on fire next to the bus shelter. Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish.”
