Firefighters assist seven people after boat engine failure on River Ouse

Fire crews helped seven people on a drifting cruise boat on the River Ouse yesterday evening, following an engine failure.

It took place at around 6:50 pm near Beningbrough. Firefighters responded by using resources to tie the canal cruising boat onto a tree by the riverbank, to prevent it from drifting further.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson told YorkMix that the incident was ongoing for a couple of hours.
