Crews from Acomb and York responded to a report of a fire in a field of standing crop yesterday evening.
The incident took place at approximately 5:18pm on Beckfield Lane.
The fire measured 12m x 10m, and firefighters extinguished the blaze using knapsack sprayers.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said that details of the fire were then passed on to the police.
