Firefighters were called to a fire in a park in Barlby yesterday evening, believed to have been deliberately started by a group of youths.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service received the report at around 7:54 pm, and the nearest available fire crew was dispatched.
A crew from Malton were at standby in York at the time, and quickly attended the scene.
The fire was already extinguished by the time they arrived. A spokesperson confirmed that advice was given to the caller who made the report.
