Deliberate fire believed to have been started in York

Another fire believed to have been started deliberately broke out in York yesterday evening (Sunday).

An Acomb fire crew responded to a report of some hedges on fire at 5:22pm.

Shortly afterwards at 5:40pm, Easingwold crews also responded. On arrival the fire was confirmed to be the same incident being dealt with by the Acomb firefighters.

Crew used knapsack sprayers to extinguish the flames.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: “The cause of fire is believed to be deliberate.”
