Emergency services went to the scene of a crash near York this morning (Monday).
It was on the A1079 near Four Lane Ends. The road was closed, with traffic described as ‘at a standstill’.
The road has now reopened and traffic is returning to normal.

One driver said the road was “jammed for miles heading York direction”.
Another witness said: “Traffic is being directed off the A1079 down Dauby Lane for those heading to York but this route is really busy and cars turning round.”
