A crash caused jams on the A1M this morning (Wednesday, 16 October).
It was on the southbound carriageway from J44 A64 York / Tadcaster to the M1 Interchange.
Three out of the four lanes were closed. But they reopened by 8.40am.

At the peak of the problem, National Highways said there were delays of 60 minutes.
And the northbound carriageway was also slow “as onlookers slow to view” says the AA.
Normal traffic conditions are expected between 9.45am and 10am, says National Highways.
