York road closes for four days for resurfacing – and Micklegate bar is shut too

Two key closures could affect motorists in York today.

First, Micklegate Bar is closed all day today (Monday, 19 July). This is to allow building survey works to take place.

A signed diversion is in place.

And a key suburban route is to be shut for long periods this week too.

Thanet Road in Acomb will be closed between junctions with Eason View and Chaloner’s Road for resurfacing.

It will be shut from 9.15am to 4pm between Monday 19 July and Thursday 22 July.

An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.
