A York post office is to close in just over a week’s time.
Acomb Post Office will shut after 12.30pm on Saturday, 18 September.
It follows the resignation of the postmaster Anand Patel.

He has run the branch, on Front Street, for eight years. But he told YorkMix in July that he had to leave for personal reasons, but it was a hard decision to make.
Both the ground floor premises and the apartment above were put up for sale.
A notice in the window says: “Following the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use, the above branch will be closing temporarily on Saturday 18 September 2021 at 12:30.
“We are looking to restore a Post Office service in this area as soon as possible.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The nearest alternative branch is York Road.
