Updated: Ouse Bridge reopens after police river search

York’s Ouse Bridge was closed until around 9am this morning as emergency services search searched for a person in the river.

The incident was reported at 2.48am today (Friday) next to the Kings Arms pub.

The search was being supported by police officers, a police helicopter, the fire service rescue boat, and the York Rescue Boat.

Footpaths near the incident were also temporarily closed. The bridge is now fully open again.
