Signs vandalised with anti-Semitic graffiti near York

A police investigation is underway after signs were vandalised with anti-Semitic graffiti in a village east of York.

It happened between 1pm on Friday 16 May and 6pm on Saturday 17 May at Gate Helmsley.

The attack was on the public footpath between Gate Helmsley and Warthill.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “During this time frame, several signs belonging to a local farm have been vandalised by having anti-Semitic graffiti written on them.”

Police are appealing for information about the incident.
