Person stuck in mud in North Yorkshire village rescued by firefighters

Three fire crews went to the rescue of someone who got trapped in mud last night (Friday).

Firefighters from Easingwold, York and Malton went to the incident in Sheriff Hutton at 6.08pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “They responded to a report a person had got stuck in mud over their knees and could not self-extricate.

“Crews used a triple extension ladder and crew power to extricate the casualty from the mud unharmed.”
