Motorcyclist seriously injured in collision on outskirts of York

A motorcyclist is in a serious condition with life changing injuries following a collision on the outskirts of York.

The incident took place on the A166 Stamford Bridge Road at Dunnington, at around 3:07 pm yesterday (Monday 12 May).

It involved a black BMW X1 car and a grey BMW motorbike.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary where he currently remains in a serious condition.

The road was closed for several hours while officers investigated the scene, and to allow for the vehicles involved to be recovered.

North Yorkshire Police officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact them.
