Mobile homes badly damaged in fire at Selby park

Two mobile homes in Selby were badly damaged by fire last night (Sunday).

Firefighters from Selby, York, Tadcaster and Goole went to the incident at the Greenacres Mobile Home Park off Flaxley Road at 7.26pm.

It started in one static caravan home, then quickly spread to a second.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “It also involved gas cylinders and oil drums.

“Crews sectorised the incident and were able to extinguish the fire. Unfortunately both vehicles sustained contained considerable amounts of damage.

“Cause is waiting on further investigation to be properly determined.”
