The festivities will ignite with an opening ceremony at Monk Bar at 11am, with the Lord Mayor of York, Margaret Wells. The Lord Mayor will then lead a procession through Goodramgate, where local businesses will showcase their floral and fire-themed displays to be judged in a window dressing competition.

Other attractions during the festival will include a fire-eating performance, a stilt-walker, fire-themed face painting, a children’s trail and treasure hunt, and performances from Steampunk dance group the Raven Morris Dancers.

“We are thrilled to bring the Flowers & Flames Festival to Goodramgate, especially on a day that celebrates fathers,” said Zoe Sinclair, chair of the Goodramgate Traders Association.

“This event offers a unique blend of entertainment and community spirit, making it a perfect outing for families and visitors.”

The Flowers & Flames Festival is a free event and ensures fun for all the family.
