Horror film festival is coming back to York – with VIP tickets now on sale

York’s scariest film festival is set to return this September – and VIP tickets are already on sale.

The Dead Northern Film Festival is back from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 September 2024 at City Screen York, and will once again be showcasing a selection of indie horror – including independent short, feature length and classic films.

The full programme is yet to be released, but horror fans can expect live events, entertainment and talks from industry professionals on top of some frightening films.

Early Bird VIP tickets for the festival are already on sale, and are available here.

VIP tickets include festival entry, a limited edition T-shirt, and access to feature films, short movies, live events, parties, Q&A sessions and more.

If you can’t wait until September for some scares though – then you’re in luck! New for 2024 is ‘A Midsummers Night’s Scream’, a collaboration between Dead Northern and the Independent Horror Society for a night of indie horror short films.

Taking place on Friday 14 June at City Screen York, the spook-filled evening will feature the theatrical premier of Northern independent horror film ‘The Moor’, starring Sophia La Porta, David Edward-Robertson, and Bernard Hill, in one of his final roles.

The film is also one of Bernard Hill’s last screen appearances, as the actor sadly passed away this month.

Tickets for A Midsummers Night’s Scream are £19.99 and are available here.
