Fire crews were mobilised yesterday evening (2 May) following reports of an open fire in woodland.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service dispatched firefighters from York to St Nicholas Fields at around 6:13 pm to investigate the incident.
Upon arrival, crews discovered two separate fires in the area, involving bushes and logs.
Firefighters extinguished the flames using knapsack sprayers and beaters.
