Crews responded to three separate fires believed to have been started deliberately in a York suburb yesterday evening (Monday).
Crews from York and Acomb were called to the incidents in the Acomb area at 6:38 pm, 7:15 pm and 7:57 pm.
The first fire involved wooden pallets and compost, while the second fire consisted of a pile of vegetation.
The third blaze, covering approximately one square metre, was made up of paper materials.
The crews used hose reel jets and pitchforks to extinguish the flames.
These reports follow a series of deliberate fires reported last week in St Nicholas Fields.
A service spokesperson noted that such incidents are a large strain on fire service resources.
