A fire that broke out at a York restaurant yesterday evening (Wednesday) is being investigated.
As YorkMix reported last night, three restaurants on High Ousegate were evacuated due to a fire outside of Nando’s.
Crews from York and Acomb were called to reports of the smell of burning and alarms sounding at 7:47 pm.

The crews located a blaze within the wall cavity of the four storey building.
Nando’s, as well as its neighbouring venues, the Social8 Lounge and Ate O’Clock Restaurant and Byron, were all evacuated.
Firefighters tackled the fire by externally exposing wood cladding and cutting away to extinguish the flames.
They used a variety of equipment whilst on scene, including a hose reel jet, small tools, a reciprocating saw, a positive pressure ventilation fan, lighting, and a thermal imaging camera.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said:
“The fire caused less than 5m2 of fire damage to internal timber structure and external facias. Smoke damage was caused to the ground floor and basement.”
Crew manager Dan Thompson from York Fire Station told YorkMix that luckily, the buildings were all safely evacuated and nobody was hurt.
