Experience the sights, sounds and smells of the steam age – from the driver’s seat!
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) are reintroducing their popular Steam Footplate and Diesel Cab Experiences this year – and booking is now available.
The two experiences can be booked from 2 April until 3 November 2024.
For the Steam Footplate Experience, visitors will board the heritage steam locomotive and join the footplate crew for a 36-mile return footplate ride between Pickering and Grosmont.
The experience starts from and returns to Pickering Station and lasts approximately three hours, and costs £430.
The Diesel Cab Experience will see visitors travel the same 36-mile route in the cab of a heritage diesel locomotive – and would be enjoyed by any diesel rail enthusiast, if you can spare £250.
All participants should be physically fit and aged 16 years plus. A medical declaration will be required to sign on arrival at Customer Services.
