Emergency services called to incident by River Ouse

Fire fighters and paramedics were called to the River Ouse last night (Saturday 26 April).

Crews from York and Acomb responded to a report of an individual who had threatened to enter the water.

The incident took place at around 10:10pm in Bishopthorpe.

Fire fighters stood by whilst ambulance crews liaised with the individual and brought them to the ambulance.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: “No fire service action was required.”
