Dog rescued from river near stately home

A dog that got stuck on a river walk near York has been rescued this afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the incident near to Beningbrough Hall at Beningbrough at 4.42pm.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Acomb, the Water Rescue Boat from Selby and animal rescue unit from Tadcaster attended a dog stuck in the river.

“Crews were able to rescue the dog using water rescue equipment. 

“The dog was unharmed and left with thankful owner.”
