Using knapsack sprayers and buckets of water, crews extinguished the fire and dampened the area.

A service spokesperson on Friday told YorkMix that police patrols had been requested for the area due to the ongoing issue of deliberate fires.

This type of incident is a large drain on the fire crews time and resources.
