A car hit the side of a York building, causing significant damage.

The vehicle drove into the side of Ware & Kay Solicitors, on Peasholme Green, which has impaired the brickwork and caused the exterior of the building to be crushed inwards.

Police officers attended the incident, which took place at lunchtime on Sunday (23 March).

The public footpath to the side of the building has now been cordoned off by City of York Council, using traffic cones, tape and fencing.

A sign displayed on the cordon states that the Council are carrying out work to improve the area, with a completion date scheduled for Friday (28 March).

The aftermath of the incident was captured on video and posted onto TikTok, at 12:55pm on Sunday (23 March).
