Blind woman assaulted in Knaresborough

A blind woman was assaulted whilst walking her dog in Knaresborough.

The incident took place on Chestnut Drive, on 14 February, between 5:15pm and 5:30pm. 

The woman victim, who is registered blind, was on Boroughbridge Road and crossing near the roundabout at Chestnut Drive, when she was approached by an unknown woman and assaulted.

Location

It’s believed a man was walking his dog along Boroughbridge Road at the time and may have witnessed the incident.

North Yorkshire Police are appealing to the dog walker, as well as anyone who may have witnessed the assault.

They are also keen to hear from motorists who may have caught the incident on dashcam footage.
