Beningbrough to celebrate Yorkshire Day with artisan market and summer fun

Beningbrough Hall, Gallery and Gardens is marking Yorkshire Day by celebrating local suppliers, craftsmanship and artisans.

Ten regional based creatives who supply and sell their products in the shop will be at Beningbrough on Yorkshire Day (Tuesday 1 August), showing off their skills, explaining their methods and ethics and offering samples.

There will be ceramics by maker Lorna Gilbert, delicacies from Kettlesing-based Sing Gin, and Northern Bloc ice cream, which is made in Leeds.

There’s also lots of summer fun to be had in the eight-acre gardens and recently-reopened hall.

In the gardens there’s a free nature trail, activities like outdoor story walks and making wild art, the popular wilderness play area, and more. If there’s a shower or two, there is plenty of inspiration under cover – from spotting faces in the hall carvings and tapestries to imagining life as a laundry maid.

Beningbrough is open daily throughout August, 10am – 5pm with free entry for National Trust and RHS members and under-fives.

For more information and to check timings for activities, visit the Beningbrough website. No booking is needed.
